Resource Submission

Please complete the form below with the relevant information about your task. This information will help others find appropriate tasks for their pedagogical context and needs. We also ask that you consider the following guidelines before submitting your task:

  • The material or resource consists of a series of pedagogical activities/tasks that prepare learners for and lead to a target task, and it may include a post-task phase.
  • The primary focus of the pedagogical activities and the target task is on meaning, as opposed to other types of language learning activities where the primary focus is on practicing using a particular linguistic feature such as vocabulary, grammar or pronunciation.
  • The task has a communicative goal. In other words, there is some sort of gap (information-gap, opinion-gap, reasoning gap, etc.) that needs to be filled.
  • There is a non-linguistic outcome. That is, the task is not intended as a display of language, but rather it has a communicative purpose that needs to be achieved.
  • There is a connection to real-world language use. The task is similar to activities that people do in real life.

Tasks can be submitted for any language, but we ask that you write the task description and the pedagogical suggestions for all the activities in English so that TBLT CoP members may be able to adapt the materials to the language they teach.

You can submit your task as a file (Word, pdf, PowerPoint) or as a link to a resource housed elsewhere (your Google Drive or your website).

After you submit a task, someone from the TBLT CoP team will connect with you before it is published. We would like to work with you to reflect on the task guidelines listed above, to ensure that we are adhering to copyright policies, and to consider potential adaptations for using the task in a broad range of contexts.

Are you unsure whether your task reflects the above guidelines? Do you have other materials or resources that are not tasks, but that you would like to share with the CoP members? Do you have questions regarding how to go about developing a task? We’re here to help. Please use the ‘Contact us’ form to book a meeting with a TBLT CoP team member. We’ll be happy to discuss your materials or to work with you to develop your task.

Thank you very much for submitting your task!
